Dr Marianne Pietschnig
Impact Fellow
Overview
I am an Impact Fellow with Green Futures Solutions working with partners e.g. in industry and policy to find solutions and support our transition towards a more sustainable future. My research interests are in climate science/climate modelling: I obtained my PhD from the University of Exeter where I studied changes in tropical precipitation in a changing climate, with a focus on land-atmosphere interactions. Upon completing my PhD, I studied changes in the South-East Asian monsoon, before moving on to a postdoc position in Norway, where I studied the impact of aerosol emissions on tropical pacific sea surface temperatures. For my master’s thesis I studied oceanic transports through the main gateways into the Arctic Ocean.
