Landscape and ecosystem dynamics

Analytical and experimental work is conducted within the £3.8M Sediment Research Facility, which provides an environmental radionuclide laboratory, two laboratories equipped with a comprehensive suite of sediment analysis hardware, and an experimental hall housing an Armfield recirculating flume, annular flume, custom-built alluvial fan simulation tank, rainfall simulator and associated soil erosion flumes. Numerical modelling is supported by two dedicated Beowulf high performance computing clusters.
