Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography
Richard is a palaeo-limnologist with an interest in using lake sediments to investigate the role of climate change and human impact in modifying the landscape over the Late- Quaternary.
Richard is the Admissions Tutor for the School of Georgraphy Streatham Campus.
Broad research specialisms:
- Late-glacial - Early Holocene rapid climate change in NW Europe.
Looking at the use of carbonate lakes as high-resolution archives for past climate change.
- Palaeo environmental change in SW China. Lake sediment records from Northern Yunnan and Sichuan
- Human impact and landscape evolution. Sites in Europe and China.
