Lucy Rose
PhD student

Profile

I am a cultural geographer with a particular interest in climate change engagement. Originally studying English Literature and Philosophy (UEA) I developed an interest in climate change issues and went on to study for an MSc in Climate Change (UEA). My research is focused on exploring the way that people engage with climate change as part of everyday life and I am interested in the role that cultural geography has in providing climate change research with new ways to engage with complex and culturally loaded issues. My interest in engagement emerged as I became fascinated by the way that individuals and groups understand and react to climate change issues. Alongside my PhD I developed a collaborative relationship with a designer focused on producing creative engagement projects in partnership with schools, academia and industry and encouraging the use of creative practice to generate innovative engagement work.

Broad research interests:

Cultural conceptions of nature, climate change communication and engagement, climate change and the media.
