Physical Geography
I am an environmental scientist and research fellow within CREWW. My broad areas of research interest include catchment and water resources management, hydrological processes, environmental modelling, nature-based solutions to socio-environmental issues and Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
I am currently working on the Ofwat Innovation-funded PEDAL (Predication and Early Detection of ALgal blooms) project. I am working to develop process-based ecohydrological models of drinking water reservoirs.
Prior to PEDAL, I worked on the CaSTCo (Catchment Systems Thinking Co-operative) Upstream Thinking Upscaled Project, which was also funded by the Ofwat Innovation Fund. We developed a workflow to assess the potential of nature-based solutions (NBS) to reduce surface water inputs from large permeable areas to the combined sewers, to reduce storm overflow discharges.
