My work emerges at the intersection of climate adaptation, mobilities, and ocean governance. My PhD project is about just and fair governance of climate adaptation in fisherfolk and seafaring communities in Fiji, particularly those considered for climate-related relocation.
I explore how roles, rights, and responsibilities are understood and negotiated within governance systems. This includes documenting complex, place-based systems of governance that are rooted in kinship, relationships with the sea, and local knowledge systems that shape everyday mobilities and adaptation.
