Dr Daisy Curtis
Lecturer
Human Geography
Daisy is a Lecturer in Human Geography. Her research examines emerging technologies and their social life, with a particular focus on 5G technology (fifth generation of wireless network). Daisy critically explores practices of 5G's development, processes of contestation, and infrastructural requirements. Extending from this research, Daisy is interested in the embodied experiences of connectivity and technology, especially in relation to the radio spectrum. Through her work Daisy also critically engages with questions about how Geographers can carefully research conspiracy theories and associated communities. Daisy also teaches on modules across the Geography programmes and draws upon work from her research to inform her teaching on topics including digital geopolitics, infrastructures, social media, and 'New Cold Wars'.
