I am a hydraulic engineer, recognised as an authority on fish passage, aquatic habitat restoration and fluvial processes within rivers. In my current role I am a researcher investigating the impact of nature-based habitat restoration solutions on hydrology and water quality.
To date I have had a varied career, having worked in both the public and private sectors. I have experience leading a team of environmental consultants, designing and managing fish passage, river and wetland habitat restoration schemes and working on flood risk management projects.
I have been involved in at least 70 projects, from initial scoping stages, directly designing schemes or through the check and review process, influencing habitats nationally. My work restoring habitats has led to significant change across at least 50 rivers within the UK, reconnecting river reaches for countless fish of a range of species and creating 3 wetlands and informing feasibility of at least 10 constructed wetlands for water quality and water resource management.
