I am a PhD student working on the TroPeaCC project and supervised by Angela Gallego-Sala, Eleanor Burke (Met Office), Stephen Sitch, Sarah Chadburn, and Jörg Kaduk (University of Leicester).
My PhD project aims to (1) highlight the drivers of the tropical peatlands carbon sink, and (2) improve their representation in ESM by developing a tropical JULES-Peat configuration. A tropical JULES-Peat configuration will then allow me to investigate the response of the carbon sink to changes in environmental conditions and better understand the impact of each driver. Finally, my project will (3) investigate the future of the tropical peatland carbon sink under a warming climate.
