I am an EPSRC DLA funded PhD candidate working on 'Modelling the hydro-geomorphic impacts of flash floods and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in desert wadi systems'.
I completed my undergraduate (2022) and postgraduate (2024) studies in Geography from Presidency University, Kolkata, India, with a specialization in 'River Science' during my masters. My past research includes works on examining the dam-induced flow alterations in the east-flowing rivers of Peninsular India, as well as the eco-geomorphic impacts of sand mining in eastern Indian rivers.
I started my PhD at the University of Exeter in September 2025. In my PhD, I'm trying to examine, quantify and compare among the hydro-geomorphic impacts of different NbS interventions in wadi catchments in order to find out the most beneficial NbS approaches ensuring flash flood risk mitigation and geomorphic stability in these wadi systems.
My current interests and skillset include Nature-based Solutions/ Natural Flood Management, Hydrological and Hydraulic modelling, Fluvial Morphodynamic modelling, Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) as well as working with Coding languages (R, Python and JavaScript).
