Dr Katherine Crichton
Honorary Appointment
About me:
Researcher Co-Investigator on the NERC funded project “ICAAP”, Increasing Carbon Accumulation in Arctic Peatlands. The project focusses on the industrial period changes in carbon accumulation and extent in Arctic peatlands. My role is to use remote sensing data to identify recent dynamics and changes in these regions, and test whether modelling captures them.
Prior to being at Exeter, I was a post-doctoral researcher at Cardiff University on another NERC project, modelling changes in the ocean carbon pump since the Miocene.
I obtained my PhD from Université Grenoble Alpes, France, modelling the role of permafrost-carbon on the paleo global carbon cycle.
Broad research specialisms:
High Latitudes, Global Carbon Cycle, Earth System Modelling
Qualifications:
PhD Université Grenoble Alpes, France
MSc Climate Change and Risk Management, Exeter University
