Physical Geography
I am a forest engineer with a background in coastal ecosystems, particularly in mangrove dynamics. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Physical Geography. My work focuses on determining what physical and biological processes control mangrove carbon accumulation and investigating human activities' impacts in a mangrove system in Colombia. Throughout my career, I have developed expertise in climate systems, palynology, and palaeoecology, which I aim to contribute to a better understanding of coastal environments and their role in climate change. I did my undergraduate thesis on Evapotranspiration and changes in cover land in Santa Marta, a coastal city in Colombia. After graduating I worked as a research intern at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panamá.
