About me:
Mehdi joined the Centre for Resilience in Environment, Water and Waste (CREWW) at the University of Exeter as a PhD student in May 2023. His doctoral research focuses on the role of Natural Flood Management (NFM) structures in enhancing flood resilience and sustainable water management.
Before beginning his PhD at Exeter, Mehdi obtained a BSc in Water Engineering from Lorestan University, Iran (2015), followed by an MSc in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Tehran, Iran (2017).
Since completing his studies, Mehdi has conducted research on topics including flood risk management, flood seasonality, groundwater management, and land subsidence.
In addition to his research, Mehdi has served as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant (PTA) at various departments, supporting teaching and learning in water-related subjects. He has also contributed to applied research projects focusing on surface water–groundwater interactions and aquifer storage and recovery management.
