Noah Smith is a land surface modeller working on JULES, and is currently Postdoctoral research associate on the MOTHERSHIP project. During his PhD he has worked on modelling thermokarst in permafrost peatlands, supervised by Dr Sarah Chadburn and Prof Iain Hartley. As part of MOTHERSHIP he will be developing JULES-Peat to better represent temperate peatlands, as well as jointly coordinating the ISIMIP peat sector and organising workshops for cross-model knowledge sharing.
