Dr. Tanvir Ahmad is a multidisciplinary researcher and development professional working at the intersection of climate change, renewable energy, sustainability, and complex socio-technical systems. He is currently serving as a Research Fellow at the Global Systems Institute, where his work focuses on climate tipping points, resilience, systems transformation, and data-driven approaches for sustainable development under the supervision of Professor Tim Lenton. His research integrates climate science, energy systems, sustainability transitions, and humanitarian-development challenges, with a particular emphasis on understanding how positive tipping dynamics can accelerate equitable and resilient pathways for vulnerable communities.
With more than 18 years of international professional and research experience, Dr. Ahmad has worked across academia, multilateral organizations, and humanitarian agencies, including UNHCR, UNDP, UNIDO, USAID, and the SAARC Energy Centre. His work has contributed to large-scale renewable energy, climate resilience, and sustainability initiatives across displacement settings, rural communities, and public institutions, combining operational implementation with applied research, policy engagement, and systems-oriented innovation.
