Tommy Nagle (He/Him)
Postgraduate Researcher
Human Geography
Tommy Nagle is a PhD candidate at the University of Exeter, where they previously completed both their BA (Hons) and MRes degrees in Human Geography. Currently funded by the South West Doctoral Training Partnership (SWDTP), their research explores the intersection of identity and access to digital markets within subcultural economies, particularly focusing on the Drum & Bass scene. Having worked as a music producer and DJ, he has first-hand experience in navigating such hybrid social networks. With academic interests spanning musical geographies, digital geographies, cultural economies, subcultural theory, and more-than-representational theory, their work aims to provide insights into how factors such as gender, sexuality, and race shape participation in these creative industries.
Tommy's research supervisors are Sam Kinsley & Eliott Rooke.
