Overview
Hannah is a PhD Researcher, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council via the South West Doctoral Training Partnership. She is supervised by Professor Neil Adger and Dr Saffron O’Neill, both from the University of Exeter, as well as Professor Julie Barnett, from the University of Bath. Hannah joined the department from the Environment Agency where she directly supported the creation of the current national strategy for flood risk management in England.
She specialises in flood risk and her PhD research focuses on the climate justice dimensions of flood and coastal risk management approaches in Devon. Hannah is a human geographer (but seeks to be integrated) and brings a social science perspective to the human-environmental challenge of flooding.
Hannah undertakes various Postgraduate Teaching Associate roles at the university and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Authority (Advance-HE).
