Overview

Oppenheimer –Turvill Scholar in African Landscape Systems. My main research interest lies in the application of drone and satellite based technologies to the study of rangeland ecology in particular the issues of invasive plants and encroachment in savannah ecosystems. I have lived and worked in southern Africa on several long term development projects including managing a project developing drought early warning systems at the Department of Meteorological Services in Botswana, remote sensing specialist on the Botswana Rangeland Inventory and Monitoring Project and Environmental Monitoring Specialist at Etosha National Park in Namibia.  I have also worked on consultancy projects for UNDP, DfID, Chemonics, JICA and GIZ on projects across southern Africa.

I have also founded and managed a circular economy environmental business winning the UK Recycled Product of the Year (National Recycling Awards), Gift of the Year (Gift Association Awards) and Environment and Community Award (SWEB Business Awards).
